Hormone Imbalance – How Do You Recognize the Symptoms?

One of the highest hormones in women is estrogen. When this hormone is reduced it can cause hormonal imbalance, resulting in a low libido or sexual desire. Other hormones in the woman’s body are progesterone and testosterone. Testosterone is a hormone found in men, but is in much lower levels in women.

Although hormones are in low levels through out the body, they affect each cell in the body. When the different hormones interact with each other, they can produce dramatic effects on the body.

Ovaries and Hormones

Your ovaries are what produce the hormones estrogen, testosterone and progesterone. The interaction between estrogen and progesterone is what coordinates the woman’s menstrual cycle.

  • Irregularities in your menstrual cycle

Some individuals may witness a weakened immune system, accelerated aging or increased risk of disease. PMS shows similar signs as hormonal imbalances because that’s exactly what’s happening. During your menstrual cycle, the hormones your brains produce interact with the estrogen levels in the body. So many women have already experienced most of these symptoms.

Causes of Hormonal Imbalance

The main cause of hormonal imbalance in women occurs when too many demands are put on their body without providing enough support. For instance, poor nutrition can play a role in this.

Stress and toxins in the environment can also cause women to develop hormonal imbalances in their bodies.
