Study Findings

This route is known for high amounts of diesel-truck and other traffic. The research found that the mice that were already showing signs of high cholesterol started showing effects of hardening arteries after they were exposed to the pollution.
They based the rest of the study findings on research using human subjects. In this study 5,000 adults that lived by a major road were tested over an eight-year period. It was found that these adults were more likely to die of a cardiovascular disease than those that did not live by a major road.
