Natural Allergy Relief

What are allergies?

Allergies also called indoor outdoor allergic rhinitis or hay fever is when you come in contact with a allergen, or a trigger, your body begins to produce higher levels of certain types of substances. Allergies cause inflammation that occurs often from pollens, molds, or other allergens present in the air during certain seasons.

What are some of the symptoms of Allergies?

Some of the symptoms often seen with allergies are a stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, watery and itchy eye eyes, itchy face, and headaches.

What are some natural treatments for allergies?

For many, relief may be just an over-the-counter drug that helps as a quick fix, but one only lasting about 12 hours. There are a wide variety of traditional medications available to help. However, for an increasing number of allergy sufferers the path to relief is best if you use some natural approaches, with a large variety of natural treatments that research has proven can help, often without many of the troubling side effects that over-the-counter or prescribed medications can bring.

Many people seek allergy relief naturally since this can be a more powerful approach of strengthening and building the immune system, minimizing allergy symptoms, and obtaining relief that often can last longer than medication can.

Furthermore, nutritional supplements can work in different ways to help you with allergy relief. A lot of nutrients and herbs strengthen and build the adrenals so your body can better fight off what triggers allergies. Other nutrients and herbs work as natural antihistamines and natural decongestants to keep breathing passages clear making it much easier to breath.

Some of these supplements for controlling and relieving allergies include:

  • Vitamin B5 helps defend against stress
  • Vitamin C helps as a natural antihistamine
  • Grapeseed, AHCC and CoQ10 helps with the immune system
  • Vitamin B12 can reduce your inflammatory response
  • Magnesium helps bronchospasm

Some other approaches that can be taken are things such as:

  • Acupuncture, which is believed to find stimulating points outside the body that can change the reactions inside, in this case it is thought to affect the immune system where the allergic actions begin.
  • Eating spicy foods is shown to help in clearing the passageway to the nasal area.
  • Installing a electronic air filtering system
  • Using saline drops to help stuffiness
  • A hot bath can help clear sinuses
  • Using a vapor bath or putting vapor in a humidifier can sometimes clear nasal way.
  • Wearing a face mask that covers the nose when going outside
  • Using a air purifier in the home, especially in the bedroom
  • Don’t smoke or be around second hand smoke

As stated above, there are many ways you can naturally try and relieve some of the symptoms associated from allergies. Medications can often times help, but with finding some natural ways of relieving the symptoms can help in helping it long term. Also, finding what triggers your allergies and how your sinuses react to those allergens is important as well in minimizing your exposure to them.

I have been suffering from allergies for years. The past 3 or so years they seem to be increasing in severity. Over the counter antihistamines only do so much for me and I refuse to break down and go to the doctors for prescriptions. I started to take Claritose along with my regular antihistamine and within a day or so started to feel the sinus pressure subsiding. I continued for about a month taking both the Claritose as well as my regular antihistamine and then started to ween myself off of the antihistamine. My allergies are now under control and I am happy to say I no longer need to take a drug to help me out. I am so happy I found an all natural way to combat my allergies!
